As for the local job market, I'm averaging 20+ people interviewing for me weekly basis for the last month. I am juggling well over 20 local openings plus additional jobs in Chicago, San Francisco, NY/NJ and Dallas. The demand this early in the hiring cycle is mostly for developers (C#, java, C++, embedded, .Net, iPhone & Android), healthcare PMs, senior IT/consulting sales & online marketers. Searches are starting to pick up for roles outside of sales, marketing, IT & development - even 4 new CIOs announced or about to be announced soon. Still dead for finance/accounting jobs. Also, below is a listing of some of my top priority searches.

1. 4 .Net openings – all C# (hardly ever get a straight VB.net search) – full time & contract – from $30 to $50/hour or $55-90k full time. CRITICAL need for WinForms & TSQL experience
2. Director of Interactive Marketing, Corporate, 75-90k plus bonus

The highest total package I've worked on was at $525k first year compensation.
